STANDARDIZED FIELD SOBRIETY TESTS
Directly from Andy Sotiropoulos: “Standardized Field Sobriety Tests (SFST) are very important pieces of evidence for the prosecutor in DUI cases. This three test battery of exercises consists of the Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus (HGN) Test, the Walk and Turn Test, and the One Leg Stand Test.

These exercises have been developed and validated by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and used to assist DUI prosecutors in establishing impairment/blood alcohol levels of accused drivers. Police officers must undergo specific training in the administration of these field sobriety tests. Combatting this evidence is therefore crucial for every defense attorney handling a DUI case.

To that end, I have undergone the same exact training as police officers in Standardized Field Sobriety Tests, completing NHTSA’s 24 hour STUDENT Course twice. Additionally, I have also completed NHTSA’s 32 hour INSTRUCTOR Course as well. As a result, I know the field sobriety tests better than virtually any police officer who testifies in a DUI case I’m handling.“

The Gold Standard in
Legal Advocacy

The consequences of a DUI conviction extend far beyond the courtroom. Offenders face:
-Permanent Record
-Financial Strain
-Emotional and Social Toll
-Top-Tier Legal Defense

An experienced DUI attorney can navigate the legal system, advocate for your rights, and potentially mitigate the consequences.
